


PIER71™'s Great Circle 2024 showcased the 8 finalists and 12 further semi-finalists of this' year's 8th Smart Port Challenge. These were selected out of more than 200 submissions and 28 shortlisted startups. 14 challenge statements had been made.
The businesses presented show a great variety of innovative solutions for the maritime sector. They range from environmental solutions, digital tools to operational improvements. Many technologies included autonomous or remote water vehicles, for example for cleaning waters or ships, but also to help with saving lives. Others were state of the art wind propulsion, capturing of emissions in the port or recycling offers.
So far more than 140 startups have participated on the PIER71 platform. SMS Amy Khor also mentioned in her keynote speech the new partnership of PIER71 with Digital Hub Logistics & Commerce, Hamburg. At the next Singapore Maritime Week (SMW), we shall bring a bigger delegation of startups and maritime companies from Hamburg and Germany to Singapore.
